The Municipality of Sv. Jurij in Slovenske Gorice occupies the easternmost part of the western Slovenske Gorice and lies on the edge of the Pesnica Valley, between the Pesnica and Ščavnica rivers. It is one of the typical Slovenske Gorice villages with a “valley” (dol), through which the Globovnica stream flows by the village center, while other settlements along the ridges are separated by the Velka, Partinjšak, and Gasteraj streams. In the middle of the hilly core stands the Gothic Church of St. George, dating from the 16th century. The municipality has a distinctly rural character, as farming predominates among the population.
