St. Martin's Day

St. Martin's Day is a traditional holiday celebrated on November 11th, in honor of Saint Martin. This day is important for many Slovenians and provides a great opportunity for socializing and enjoying food and wine. St. Martin's Day is also closely tied to vines, winemaking, and the arrival of autumn.

It is a chance to gather with friends and family, who often attend one of the many cultural events, concerts, or traditional celebrations together.

Old Vine Festival

Old Vine House

The Old Vine Festival is a wine, culinary, and cultural tribute to the 450-year-old Guinness World Record holder, the oldest vine in the world. Slovenia's wine capital comes to life during the harvest season, offering a rich variety of autumn experiences. Wine, food, culture, and tradition.

As part of the festival, there are wine and culinary evenings with concerts. You can taste top-quality local wines and dishes prepared by renowned chefs.

At the local products market, you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade treats, and products made of wood, ceramics, and other materials.

The traditional rafting baptism is an event held on the Drava River, where new rafters are baptized, connecting them with the tradition of river transport.

The ceremonial harvest of the world's oldest vine is the highlight of the festival and will take place at Lent, in front of the Old Vine House. Here, grapes are harvested from the world's oldest vine, which is over 450 years old.
