Globovnica Stream
Globovnica Stream is a right-hand tributary of the Velka River near Radehova, in the northern part of the Slovenske gorice region. It springs from a wooded ravine below the village of Šomat and flows mostly southeastward—initially through a relatively narrow valley with a wet, flat bottom, then widening considerably near Jurovski Dol, before eventually opening into the broad Pesnica Valley near Lenart. In the past, the stream flowed directly into the Pesnica River, but during extensive land reclamation works in the 1960s, it was redirected into the Radehova artificial lake, from where it continues through a man-made channel into the Velka River. From the low hills on both sides, numerous short and small tributaries flow into it, the largest being the Vardovski Potok on the right-hand side. The Globovnica Stream is home to many fish species, including catfish, carp, grass carp, pike, zander, bream, bleak, roach, rudd, and various smaller fish.
