Trnovska vas

The Municipality of Trnovska vas is a self-contained geographical unit, leaning on the regional road Ptuj–Lenart, and for this very reason it is developing into a strong rural settlement between these two towns. Well-maintained agricultural areas offer great opportunities in the field of agriculture. The area of the Municipality of Trnovska vas was already settled in pre-Roman times, and from the Late Antiquity we encounter burial mounds. The Josephine reforms formed the basis for the establishment of a school in 1790. The beginnings of today’s parish, with the establishment of the location of St. Bolfenk, also date back to the same period. Although several municipalities were formed in the previous century, the parish and the school have always been the stronger argument for unification. The most important sectors in agriculture are livestock breeding, processing of vegetables, ornamental plants, seeds, and seedlings.
