Vision: Creating the Best Wines
The wine story of the Puklavec family began in 1934, when Martin Puklavec set forth his vision: to create the best wines together. His philosophy is still strongly present in our work today and is reflected in the core values of Puklavec Family Wines: passion, hard work, and dedication to the highest quality. Today, grandfather’s and father’s vision is being fulfilled by Tatjana Puklavec, in close cooperation with local winegrowers.
The vineyards of Puklavec Family Wines are located in the Ljutomer-Ormož Hills and in Jerusalem, ranking among the world’s finest winegrowing sites for white wines. They are blessed with an enviable climate and the most suitable geology for vine cultivation. Combined with a state-of-the-art winery, cutting-edge equipment, and talented winemakers, there is no excuse not to produce some of the best wines in the world. The vines cover a total area of 840 hectares. The vineyards are situated at altitudes between 250 and 350 meters and are spread across several hills.
The unique terroir of the Ljutomer-Ormož Hills is renowned for elegant, varietally expressive white wines and blends, shaped by the Pannonian climate, characterized by pronounced differences between day and night temperatures, relatively dry summers, and true winters.
We are equipped with the most advanced technology; the grapes are processed almost entirely without oxygen and fermented at controlled temperatures, which ensures the quality and freshness of the wines. In our archival cellar in Ormož, we store over 250,000 bottles, among which are only the finest vintages, including the legendary Sauvignon from 1963.
