Vinag 1847
Vinag 1847 is a historic wine cellar located in the very centre of Maribor, where more than 2 kilometres of underground wine tunnels stretch beneath the city streets. Its tradition dates back to 1847, when the Melje estate owner Alojz Kriehuber began wine production and built the first cellar for this purpose.
Today, Vinag 1847 combines more than 170 years of heritage with premium wines and experiences that introduce visitors to wine culture in a unique way. A guided tour takes you through the impressive underground tunnels, past numerous wooden barrels and into the cellar archive, ending with a tasting of selected wines (with the option to upgrade the package with additional samples, cheese, or cold cuts).
