Rogatec is located in the southeastern part of Slovenia, at the transition from the southern slopes of the wine-growing Haloze Hills into the Posotelje Valley. In this small area, squeezed between Mount Donačka in the north and the Sotla River in the south, lie tiny, yet rare and precious gems of nature, culture, and historical heritage.
Important traffic and trade routes have intersected here since the past. It is precisely due to its favorable position at the transition from the pre-Alpine to the Pannonian world that Rogatec, with 700 years of market rights, ranks among the oldest market towns in Slovenia.
They take pride in delicious homemade dishes and top-quality wines from the winegrowing Haloze. Each dish tells a story of tradition and love for local ingredients. Traditional events such as historical fairs, ethnographic festivals, and wine tours, or workshops of old crafts, offer experiences for all generations.
