Destrnik

The Municipality of Destrnik stretches across the elongated, sunny hills of the central Slovenske gorice and the shallow, long valleys carved by the tributaries of the Pesnica River on one side and the Rogoznica River on the other, just a few kilometers from Ptuj. It is enriched by unspoiled nature and other elements of natural and cultural heritage.

In harmony with the natural features of the municipality, the residents have shaped their own character. These surroundings have formed them into people accustomed to hard work and modesty. The people of Destrnik are very proud, deeply connected to their homes and their roots. It is precisely this pride, modesty, and diligence that have led many locals to venture out into the wider world in search of a better life. Yet wherever they went, they always proudly said they came from "Vrbana" and that they were "Vrbenčani."
