From Grain to Bread – Ethnological Collection

If you travel from Videm pri Ptuju towards Zgornji Leskovec, you will pass through the village of Soviče. In this village, on the left-hand side, you will find a signpost indicating the Ethnological Collection, which will lead you, after approximately one kilometre, to the Ethnological Collection of the Haloze Heritage Preservation Society. The collection is presented in two parts. The outdoor section displays tools and equipment used throughout the process from sowing and harvesting to threshing, while the indoor section showcases the tools that were once used on farms to transform wheat grain into flour and finally into bread. Next to the collection, there is also a small demonstration vineyard. Throughout the year, several events are organised, during which the use of traditional tools is demonstrated. Guided tours through the collection are available by prior arrangement.
