Trojica Lake

Gradišče or Trojica Lake is located in the town of St. Trojica in the Slovenske gorice hills. Its backdrop is formed by the pilgrimage Church of the St. Trojica with its monastery, and the area is also known for the healing energy points on the hillside beneath the church.

West of the church, amid the fields, lies an artificial lake created at the end of the 1960s. It has a strong influence on the life and image of Sveta Trojica in Slovenske gorice. Covering about 38 hectares, it is a popular gathering place for fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts. The lake represents one of the most important development opportunities for the municipality, especially in the field of tourism and related services, as well as agriculture.

In the immediate vicinity of the lake stands a small tourist hut, intended especially for picnics and camping. A 3 km long walking trail runs around the lake, along which you will find 20 marked energy points (although more than 50 have been measured). The walk can begin in the center of Sv. Trojica, continue up 186 steps along the Way of the Cross, and circle the lake. Special attention should be paid to the point near the chapel by Trojica Lake, as it is considered one of the strongest in Slovenia, with a diameter of as much as 15 meters.

In summer, windsurfers catch the wind on the lake, while in colder winters it becomes a wonderful destination for ice skating.
