Kapl Homestead

In the village of Dražen Vrh, which spreads along a ridge and is planted with vineyards, you will find the Kapl family homestead. It is characterised by a preserved wooden house (cimprača), which is protected as an ethnological monument. It was built around 1850 in the style of the Pannonian type with a characteristic exterior entrance to the cellar. Half of the house has a brick-vaulted cellar. A special feature of the house is a small room in the attic, which has massive small doors and a wooden lock. The attic also houses a collection of old farming tools and equipment. In 1924, certain restoration works were carried out on the house. New entrance doors were made. On the entrance door on the eastern side there is an interesting inscription: "Kdor če kos tote dveri iti, mora znati dobro Piti" (Whoever wishes to pass through this door must know how to drink well). In the same year, a wooden cross and images were also made. The cross was created as a gesture of gratitude for the safe return from the First World War. At the Kapl homestead they offer you a several-day escape into the past, detox and relaxation in the unspoilt nature of the Slovenske gorice, to experience a holiday the way your grandmothers and grandfathers used to live. Without television and Wi-Fi, the stove is wood-fired ... Do you dare?
