Apple Route
Apple trees are the most widespread and important fruit species in the Selniška Valley and on the surrounding hills. For centuries, the people of Selnica have been planting apple trees in their orchards and gardens. They recognized early on all the qualities of local apples, which come in diverse shapes, sizes, and colors, with hundreds of noble sweet-and-sour flavors. Set out on the Apple Route and discover all the secrets of apples. This educational fruit-growing trail for cyclists and hikers is about 4.5 km long. A walk or ride along the Apple Route is suitable for family trips, groups, and individuals, as the route runs across flat fields and requires no physical effort. Along the way, walkers and cyclists can meet local producers (fruit growers, goat farmers, woodworkers, etc.).
The municipality also offers visitors free rental of six bicycles if they wish to enjoy the Apple Route on two wheels.
