Viticulture and Ethnology Museum Gorca

The path to the museum leads you through the beautiful landscape of the Haloze vineyards, past Vila Gorca, up to the hilltop where the museum is located. In the museum, you can see objects that tell the story of the people and their lives, including a preserved black kitchen with a hearth and bread oven. In the wine cellar, which is part of the museum, you will hear stories about the vineyard workers, their service to the town gentry, as well as about vine cultivation and winemaking. There will also be no shortage of tales about witch hunts and other superstitions that once circulated—and still linger—in these parts. The presentation is accompanied by a tasting of wine varieties typical of the Podlehnik area, along with some traditional local delicacies. The Vineyard Museum also houses a wine cellar where local winemakers sell their wines, as well as a multimedia-equipped space for meetings and gatherings. The location, which also includes an event space, is a lovely excursion spot where numerous events and festivities take place throughout the year.

Next to the viticulture museum, members of the Podlehnik Tourist Association have set up an ethnological museum, where they have collected and displayed various objects and tools that give visitors an impression of life in the Podlehnik and Haloze regions.
