Museum of the World’s Oldest Grapevine

The goodness of our time is rooted in our ancestors

The Museum of the World’s Oldest Grapevine tells the incredible story of the resilience of the 450-year-old Blue Frankish vine, its caretakers, the skills involved and its extraordinary heritage, as well as the urban development of Lent and Maribor as a centre of viticulture in Štajerska.

It draws on preserved movable heritage that further substantiates the remarkable age of the oldest vine. The exhibition is enriched, alongside selected materials and exhibition texts, by computer animation and video production. A visit also includes a tasting of the queen's wine or fruit juice.

Museum visit and wine tasting:

  • Adults: €8.00

  • Pensioners: €5.50

  • Secondary school and university students: €5.50

  • Pre-school children: €2.00

The offer includes: a visit to the exhibition and animated film, and a tasting of the queen's wine or fruit juice.
