Maribor Lake Landscape Park

The protected nature conservation area and landscape park Maribor Lake was created by damming the Drava River for the construction of the Mariborski Otok Hydroelectric Power Plant.

Today, the lake and its surroundings are also a popular place for recreation and relaxation in nature—you can try sailing, windsurfing, and paddling, among other activities.

Along the shore you’ll find numerous boathouses and restaurants and cafés, including the glamping resort Chocolate Village, popular with locals and tourists alike, and a recreation park with the Drava Center beach.

• exploring unique waterside habitats (the southern shore of the lake is almost entirely covered by forest, and in several places shallow areas are forming, which are also an interesting habitat); and

• admiring the beautiful landscape and relaxing in nature – along the lakeshore you will also find numerous boathouses and hospitality venues.
