Basilica of Marija Zavetnica on Ptujska Gora

The jewel of Gothic architecture, as the Basilica of Marija Zavetnica on Ptujska Gora is called, is the central pilgrimage and museum site of the Municipality of Majšperk. The wide and airy square at the top of Ptujska Gora offers an unforgettable view: on one side of the Drava Plain and Pohorje, and on the other of the Haloze Hills with Donačka Gora.

Ptujska Gora is visited throughout the year, attracting the largest number of pilgrims on the Feast of the Marijino vnebovzeta, when the holy masses and accompanying events on the square are attended by several thousand visitors from all over the world.
