The Fram Waterfall – Skalca
The Skalca Waterfall is one of the few overhanging waterfalls on Pohorje. It is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in the Hoče–Slivnica part of Pohorje. It is also known as the Fram Waterfall, since it is fed by the waters of the Fram Stream, which springs at an altitude of 1,100 m near the Kager Lodge on Slivniško Pohorje. The waterfall plunges about sixteen meters into a pool below.
A hiking trail runs around the waterfall, offering beautiful views of it. It is a short trip, well worth a stop on the way to or from Pohorje. In Fram, several mills once operated along the stream, and further upstream there were also a few small sawmills. The stream is also linked to the centuries-old tradition of producing pumpkin seed and other oils in Fram.
