AMONG THE MOST INTERESTING CARNIVALS IN THE WORLD Visit Ptuj in winter, when it becomes the largest ethnographic museum of intangible cultural heritage in the open air. Lonely Planet has placed Kurentovanie among the ten most interesting carnivals in the world, and thus in good company of large carnival cities such as Venice, Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans. It is a great opportunity not only to see Kurent's parades, which UNESCO has included in the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, but also to see numerous ethnographic and carnival parades, meet other traditional or modern carnival characters, have fun in masks and much more. During the Kurentvanje, Artfest, Ethnofest and Carnivalfest include numerous parades, carnival parades, displays of ethnographic characters, concerts, masked dances, exhibitions and much more. The inscription on the UNESCO list has contributed to greater international recognition and thus to the enrichment of the overall common world history. At the same time, the inscription protects heritage from the excessive influences of commercialization and prevents the decontextualization of the intangible cultural heritage, its implementation and occurrence outside the primary time and space. At the same time, there is a growing awareness that the richness of the world does not lie in cultural and otherwise monolithic, but in cultural and other diversity. The tours of the Kurents are one of many ethnographic traditions from different parts of the world, which strive for a common goal through their own external images and rituals. In the vast majority of different nations and nationalities, it is aimed at providing conditions for a better quality of everything that exists.
