SVETI ANDRAŽ V SLOVENSKIH GORICAH MUNICIPALITY
Hrga Homestead
The Hrga Homestead, standing at the top of the scattered ridge settlement of Vitomarci, represents a type of elongated Pannonian homestead from the early 19th century. It consists of a house and a farm building. Both structures are examples of traditional cimprana construction, with wooden frame walls protected by clay plaster, whitewashed with lime. The homestead reveals the typical Pannonian house, with a wine cellar attached beneath its thatched gabled roof. Among the more interesting architectural details are the lattice cellar doors, bearing the year 1811.

Its first reconstruction took place in 2002 (restoration of the walls, roof, and surroundings) along with the farm building. In 2017, within the framework of the DETOX project (Slovenia–Croatia), the homestead received a refreshed appearance, with renovated clay plasters and lime coatings on the interior and exterior of both parts of the homestead. It was also equipped with electricity, sanitary facilities, and running water. Inside the house, a museum presents rural life of the past through various exhibits, while the farm section of the homestead has been converted into an event space used by local associations.
The neighboring building, once a farm structure, now features a traditional farmhouse kitchen and a hayloft, which has been adapted into a unique type of countryside accommodation.
