Slovene National Theatre Maribor

The Slovenian National Theatre Maribor (SNG Maribor) is Slovenia’s national professional theatre institution. It comprises the Drama, Opera, and Ballet departments, as well as a Symphony Orchestra. It is the organizer of the annual Borštnik Theatre Festival, the largest Slovenian theatre festival, and the Ondina Otta competition for young vocal talents. The theatre hosts major theatrical, musical, and other events that enliven the city’s cultural life. You can find it in the old town center, on the beautiful Slomšek Square, next to the Cathedral and park. From the Theatre Café, you can also enjoy a lovely view of the square while relaxing in a pleasant atmosphere over good coffee and conversation.
