Areh, 1249m

Areh is a tourist and excursion destination on Pohorje. On Areh there is space for numerous outdoor activities.

Nature can be discovered on foot or by bicycle, where numerous cycling routes are available to you that lead across Areh:

· Bellevue cycling route,

· Trije kralji cycling route,

· Pohorje cycling traverse and

· Slovenian mountain biking route.

In the wintertime you can descend the white slopes. Mariborsko Pohorje with Areh is considered the largest winter centre in Slovenia.

On Areh there is the Church of St. Areh, which is one of four in our country dedicated to Emperor Henry II. The greatest attraction of the church is the stone tomb of St. Henry, which was brought here from the Žiče Charterhouse.
